Following on from the Prime Minister’s address and subsequent release of the document outlining the continued strategy to tackle the current crisis, we are pleased to announce that we have re-commenced with servicing works. As these have been suspended for the past seven weeks there is a large back log. As such we are prioritizing buildings with sleeping risk first and those alarm systems and fire equipment that are most out of date to follow. Installation work will also recommence, with those works planned pre-lockdown given priority. To this effect Wight Fire & Security have been designated as ‘Keyworkers’ and we will make every effort to get back on track as soon as possible. The upkeep of life safety and security systems remains a very important facet of the safe use of any building and it is vital that we are able to meet the statutory requirements as soon as possible.
Our main priority is the safety of both our customers and our employees. All engineers have been issued with strict guidelines to work within, taking full account of social distancing and in full compliance with the latest guidelines. Face masks, hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes and disposable gloves have been issued with instructions to use at all times on customers property. Where we are carrying out works in residential buildings we will concentrate on communal areas. Private dwellings will only be accessed in an emergency scenario.
