Wight Fire’s first ever employee, Peter Knight has retired from the business. Originally employed by Ron Green in 1984, Peter has completed an incredible 34 years with the company. His affable manner and ‘can do’ attitude has always been popular with customers and work colleagues alike. With many regular customers built up over the decades, Peter was responsible for organising his own diary, earning him the nickname ‘Knight Fire’. To mark the end of Knight Fire, Peter and his wife, Bernadette, who retired on the same day, met colleagues for a meal at The Yarbridge Inn. As a gesture of thanks Peter was presented with details of a weekend break in The New Forest along with old photo’s of his time with the company by the Directors.
A lover of the outdoors, Peter aims to keep busy during his retirement. He is planning to use his camper van a lot more and Bernadette has drafted a long list of jobs to keep him occupied in the coming months!
